A spectator freely chooses one of the gems and presto, the performer changes them all to match the selected gem! Now for the interesting part. The magician places the rod into his left hand. The magician ask the spectator what would happen if he had picked a different color? The magician says he could have made any color appear on the rod except that, he would have to rebuild the rod and put all the gems back on.
