| The International Brotherhood of Magicians
(IBM) is a worldwide organisation with its head office located in the
USA. The IBM has branch "Rings" in many countries and cities around the
world. The IBM holds an annual convention in the USA. Every year, the convention
is held round about July in a different city each year.
The Sydney Ring of the IBM is called Ring
102 and is named after the great international magician Maurice Rooklyn
who made his home in Sydney. For many years, Ring 102 met at Maurice's
home.
The activities of IBM Ring 102 are designed
to foster fellowship and support of magicians. The members represent a
range of skills, magical interests and ages. The membership of Ring 102
is made up from professional, semi-professional and amateur magicians.
Each month a topic is chosen for the meeting and the presentations are
made by either fellow members or other experts.
Being part of an international brotherhood
of magicians, Ring 102 regularly receives visitors from other Rings.
In Australia, there are Rings that meet
in Canberra, Brisbane and Melbourne.
IBM Ring 102 meets at 8pm on the third
Tuesday of each month at St Albans hall in Lindfield.
Located on the corner of Tyon Road and
Lindfield Avenue (right opposite Lindfield Railway Station).

| The Geniis Magical Society Inc.
was formed as a club for the friendly enjoyment of magic. In 2003 we turned
40 years old! We have members who are beginners, skilled amateurs, and
professional magicians. We hold regular meetings, conduct auctions of magical
apparatus and books, and organise lectures.
Membership of the Geniis is open to any
person with a genuine interest in magic as a performing art. There is no
age restriction, though we recommend that younger members should be accompanied
by an adult.
Prospective members are welcome to visit
the club up to three times before being expected to apply for membership.
Geniis has a reputation for friendliness and relaxed fun. Although we don't
function as a "school of magic", if you demonstrate your interest and involvement
with magic, you will quickly find many members who will be happy to share
your interest and lend assistance as you learn. We extend a sincere welcome
to you, and hope that you will soon be a member of our exciting society.
WHERE WE MEET:
The Wentworthville Community Centre, Lane
Street, Wentworthville.
Close to the railway station, about 40
minutes by train from the city.
WHEN:
Second and Fourth Mondays of each month,
from around 8:00 p.m - 11:00 p.m
